In a significant development for the academic community, the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training has approved HTS promotions for teachers, as per an official notification released on Tuesday. A total of 59 faculty members serving in Federal Government Colleges have been granted Higher Time Scale promotions across various teaching grades.
The details of the decision indicate that two female professors previously serving in BPS-20 have now advanced to BPS-21 under the HTS promotions for teachers policy. Similarly, 16 male and 8 female Associate Professors from BPS-19 have moved up to BPS-20, reflecting the ministry’s efforts to reward academic experience and service.
Further updates in the notification reveal that 15 male and 18 female Assistant Professors of BPS-18 have been promoted to BPS-19 through HTS promotions for teachers. These upgrades are contingent upon adherence to specific service rules, post nomenclature, and a clean performance record without pending inquiries.
Reacting to this welcome development, the Federal Government College Teachers Association (FGCTA) expressed deep appreciation for the Ministry’s quick response in executing HTS promotions for teachers. Prof. Akram Khan Khosa, the FGCTA President, lauded the recognition of faculty contributions and congratulated all the teachers who earned their long-overdue promotions.
