Acting Rector of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), Prof. Mukhtar Ahmed, emphasized his commitment to fostering an inclusive and forward-thinking academic environment during a meeting with university officers on the main campus. Prof. Ahmed, who also serves as Chairman of the Higher Education Commission, outlined his priorities of hard work, dedication, and teamwork while advocating for a culture free from internal politics.
Central to his vision is the digitization of institutional processes through the implementation of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, alongside enhanced hostel management and a commitment to mutual respect across all levels of the university. “Respect is not a privilege but a fundamental right of every individual, from the top tier to the grassroots,” Prof. Ahmed remarked, stressing the importance of accountability, openness, and transparent communication.
He called on university officers to embrace a renewed sense of self-responsibility, mutual respect, and constructive dialogue to bridge gaps between staff and administration. Highlighting the pivotal role of educational institutions as the “guardians of the Prophets’ legacy,” Prof. Ahmed championed the idea of an Islamic renaissance in line with IIUI’s dual identity as an Islamic and international academic hub.
Acknowledging the vital responsibilities borne by International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) among Pakistan’s 265 universities, the rector encouraged staff to take ownership of their roles, uphold discipline, and prioritize teamwork as key drivers of institutional success.
Acting IIUI President Prof. Ahmed Shuja Syed endorsed the rector’s vision, emphasizing the need for collaborative and meaningful exchanges to restore the university’s legacy and reputation. “Together, we aim to create a positive institutional legacy that aligns with IIUI’s rich heritage and ambitious future,” he stated.
Through this roadmap, IIUI seeks to solidify its standing as a beacon of knowledge and inclusivity while maintaining its core Islamic values in the pursuit of academic excellence.
