The Art of Parenting

AIOU empowers parents for a peaceful future

Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, emphasized the transformative potential of character-building initiatives for children, during the closing ceremony of the four-day workshop on The Art of Parenting held at Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU). He expressed confidence that such efforts would soon contribute to reshaping Pakistan into a harmonious and progressive society.

Addressing the audience, Rana Mashhood lauded AIOU for spearheading this initiative, commending Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Nasir Mahmood for organizing the workshop “The Art of Parenting” aimed at guiding children towards virtuous and constructive lives. “The youth of a nation, when equipped with the right values and determination, pave the way for its success,” he stated.

The workshop featured master trainers who embodied the ideals envisioned by Allama Iqbal, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, and the sacrifices of Pakistan’s forefathers. The event not only focused on imparting parenting skills but also sought to address societal challenges by nurturing children into responsible citizens.

Guest of honor and Parliamentary Secretary for the Ministry of Planning and Development, Wajiha Akram, highlighted that true development stems from raising morally upright individuals, not merely from economic prosperity. She pledged unwavering support to AIOU and its partner organizations in this nation-building mission, reinforcing her commitment to strengthening such initiatives.

A significant milestone of the event was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between AIOU and the National Counter-Terrorism Authority (NACTA). The collaboration aims to promote peace and counter societal unrest through joint efforts. The agreement was formalized by Dr. Zahid Majeed, Director of AIOU’s Department of International Affairs, and Dr. Khalid Chauhan, Director General of NACTA.

This workshop underscores AIOU’s dedication to fostering a culture of responsibility, peace, and positive parenting in Pakistan, marking another step toward shaping a prosperous future for the nation.
