The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation’s (OIC) Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation (Comstech) has joined forces with Gourmet Industries, Pakistan’s largest food processing complex, to announce the Comstech-Gourmet Industrial Internship Programme, set to kick off its inaugural batch in January 2025. This transformative initiative is designed to nurture innovation, research, and skill development by offering young professionals hands-on training and exposure to cutting-edge industrial processes.
Empowering Young Talent in OIC Member States
This internship program is exclusively open to citizens of OIC member countries under the age of 40, with a BS/BSc or MS/MSc degree in relevant fields. The Comstech-Gourmet Industrial Internship programme will select 10 candidates who will embark on an enriching four-week journey at Gourmet Industries, engaging with real-world industrial projects in food processing, engineering, plant operations, recycling, and more.
Comstech aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry needs by fostering practical expertise and innovation. The selected participants will benefit from an all-inclusive package, including:
- Accommodation and meals during the internship.
- Return economy-class airfare to and from Pakistan.
- Immersive learning through state-of-the-art industrial technologies.

- Food industry operations such as bakery, dairy, and beverages.
- Advanced recycling techniques using innovative RPET methodologies.

Interns will gain valuable hands-on experience in supply chain management, sustainability practices, and technological innovation, contributing to sustainable solutions and enhanced industrial efficiency in areas such as human nutrition and value addition.
