ESEF and MAEF Delegation Explores SEF-Supported Schools in Karachi

A high-level delegation from the Elementary and Secondary Education Foundation (ESEF) and the Merged Areas Education Foundation (MAEF) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) recently visited a selection of SEF-supported schools in Karachi to observe operational practices and evaluate the effectiveness of the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model in education.

The delegation, comprising eight members, visited two notable schools: Foundation Assisted School – Sherpao Colony I and People’s English Medium School. Their aim was to gain insight into the support provided by SEF programmes and understand the practical implementation of teaching strategies, school infrastructure, and student engagement.

The visit was led by Ashfaque Hussain Merani, SEF’s regional head of Karachi, along with the district heads of Karachi-I and Karachi-II. Mr. Merani briefed the delegation on SEF’s subsidy model, its compliance standards, and how participating schools align with SEF’s educational goals. The the Elementary and Secondary Education Foundation (ESEF) and the Merged Areas Education Foundation (MAEF) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) delegation also explored the monitoring, assessment, and training processes implemented by SEF to ensure sustainable educational outcomes.

Delegation members praised SEF’s comprehensive approach, recognizing the significant positive impact of the PPP model in enhancing educational quality. They expressed admiration for SEF’s commitment to improving education and its role in expanding opportunities for students across Karachi.

This visit highlights the importance of collaborative models in the education sector, with SEF’s partnership-based approach showing promising results in addressing educational challenges.
