In a significant push towards modernising Pakistan’s education infrastructure, Federal Secretary for the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training (MoFEPT), Mr. Nadeem Mahbub, conducted an official visit to the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) on Tuesday. During his visit, the Secretary held in-depth, one-on-one sessions with senior officials of FBISE. He received comprehensive briefings on various operational frameworks, including examination procedures, affiliation processes, and academic quality assurance mechanisms. FBISE Chairman Mr. Ikram Ali shared a detailed presentation highlighting the institution’s recent strides in technology-driven improvements and transparent governance.
One of the key focus areas discussed was the implementation of digital solutions in exam management, registration, and result dissemination. The Secretary commended FBISE’s efforts in pioneering automation and streamlining internal processes. He noted that such digital upgrades are reducing administrative burdens and enabling real-time coordination between the Ministry, the Board, and thousands of affiliated educational institutions. “The work FBISE is doing in this regard sets a strong precedent. Digitalisation in exam systems is no longer a luxury—it is a strategic necessity,” Mahbub stated.
Highlighting the need for a cohesive national approach, Mr. Mahbub urged FBISE to showcase its innovations at the upcoming Inter-Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) meeting. He further recommended fostering closer collaboration with provincial education boards to ensure that a unified, scalable, and inclusive model of digitalisation in exam systems can be adopted nationwide.
The visit concluded with reaffirmation of MoFEPT’s vision to promote a future-ready education ecosystem—one that leverages technology to enhance transparency, improve student engagement, and raise the overall standard of academic delivery across Pakistan.
