The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore has officially launched the UET Alumni Saudi Chapter, bringing together its graduates residing in the Kingdom under a unified platform aimed at fostering lasting professional and academic connections.
The initiative seeks to enhance mutual networking, reinforce alumni ties with their alma mater, and create pathways for collaborative ventures in engineering, technology, and education. The newly formed UET Alumni Saudi Chapter also aims to act as a bridge between the alumni community in Saudi Arabia and the main campus in Lahore, promoting long-term institutional support and outreach.
During the inauguration ceremony, the first executive body of the chapter was announced. UET Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Shahid Munir addressed the alumni via an online session, applauding the chapter’s formation and calling it a valuable contribution to UET’s global outreach efforts. The executive members shared the chapter’s agenda, which received formal approval from the Vice Chancellor. The chapter also shared updates about three student-led projects — from the Civil, Metallurgy, and Computer Science departments — that have recently secured funding.
Prof Dr Shahid Munir encouraged the UET Alumni Saudi Chapter to pursue official registration for fundraising purposes to support various UET welfare initiatives. He also appreciated the role of international alumni in contributing to the university’s development and highlighted similar successful chapters already operating in other countries.
