Mushaira’ – ‘Rang-e-Sukhan’ was organized by Quaidian Debating & Literary Society at the jam-packed Earth Sciences Auditorium, Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad. Vice-Chancellor Dr. Muhammad Ali Shah was the Chief Guest.
Renowned poet Anwar Masud(who excels in humor) was the star attraction of this literary event. He was given a warm welcome and standing ovation on arrival. He had to ask the audience to remain seated. He recalled Wah Cement and Ordnance Factories and proposed to the old and present peaceful students of QAU to name their offsprings as Bullet-un-Nisa Begum, Pistol Perveen, Meezail-ud-Dola and Radar Khan, knowing that Department of Defence & Strategic Studies existed at the university. He had some relevant material for merchants of death and arms-supplying nations.
Anwar Masud called for adopting Urdu as official language. He recited a selection of his poems on request. Shakil Jazib won appreciation for his couplet Tehzeeb Hafi in Urdu. In addition, he also recited Saraiki and Punjabi poems. Akhtar Usman and Social Media poet Itbaf Abrok recited their poems.
