AIOU to provide internet and computer lab facilities to students of Abbottabad, V.C Dr.Zia Ul-Qayyum

Our Correspondent: Abbottabad, Vice Chancellor, Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU), Prof. Dr.Zia Ul-Qayyum visited Abbottabad on the last his visit to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In his meeting with government officials, socio-political leaders, students and tutors, he discussed in detail about the digitization of the university. Dr.Zia Ul-Qayyum said that online facilities have been provided to the students of the AIOU with the slogan of “Education at Door step”.VC AIOU, while talking to the students and their parents, offered them to identify a school or college in the central part of Abbottabad and AIOU with the consultation of that institution will provide internet and computer lab facilities so that they can continue their education uninterruptedly by availing the online facilities of the university for free. It is pertinent to mention here that the Vice Chancellor also visited Kohat, Peshawar, Mardan, Timergar and Swat in his recent tour to KPK and he succeeded in acquiring land for the construction of Regional Office buildings in these areas. The provincial government has agreed to provide 20 kanals of land for the construction of regional campus Mardan and the district administration has been given the responsibility to identify the land.
