Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) is set to offer fee concessions to deserving and underprivileged children for its Spring 2025 semester admissions. The university is committed to making education accessible to all, with programs ranging from matriculation to PhD. Starting January 1, students from marginalized backgrounds can benefit from financial assistance through various initiatives, including the “Community Scheme” scholarship.
Prof. Dr. Nasir Mahmood, the Vice Chancellor of AIOU, emphasized the university’s mission to provide quality education without focusing on profits, stating, “Our goal is to illuminate every home with the light of education, ensuring that no one is left behind.”
One of the key initiatives is the “Community Scheme” scholarship, which offers fee reductions ranging from 50% to 100% for underprivileged individuals, including those from disadvantaged communities such as the disabled, children of martyrs, prisoners, and the transgender population. This scheme aims to support society’s most vulnerable groups and ensure that they have access to education. The “Community Scheme” scholarship reflects AIOU’s inclusive approach, providing opportunities to students who may otherwise face barriers to education.
Additionally, AIOU is continuing its Matric Free Education Plan, offering free matriculation education to children from the former FATA, Balochistan, and Gilgit-Baltistan regions.
Admissions for the Spring 2025 semester will open on January 1. Interested students must submit the appropriate forms to their regional offices and complete the application process to avail of these fee concessions. Only students who apply for financial aid will be eligible for these discounts, ensuring that assistance is provided to those who truly need it. Through the “Community Scheme” scholarship, AIOU remains dedicated to helping underprivileged students achieve their educational goals.
