AWKUM fosters youth tech innovation

The AWKUM youth tech innovation platform enabled students to showcase their skills and gain hands-on experience at the “Idea Competition and National Expo” held at Abdul Wali Khan University, Mardan. Organized by the Department of Computer Science and ORIC, the event spotlighted Graphics Designing, Artificial Intelligence, Software Programming, and Cyber Security.

Chief guest Sajid Hussain Shah, Director General Science, Technology and IT, emphasized that such initiatives promote creativity among the youth and equip them with tools to tackle modern-day challenges. He praised the AWKUM youth tech innovation efforts, encouraging students to contribute innovative solutions to national progress.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zahir Shah appreciated the platform for nurturing creative thinking in the field of technology. Dean of the Faculty of Numerical Sciences, Prof. Dr. Sher Afzal, remarked that competitions like these are essential in preparing students for future technological landscapes. Through the AWKUM youth tech innovation initiative, students brought forward ideas that reflected a deep understanding of real-world applications.

Participants came from institutions including Women University Mardan, Engineering University Mardan, and Postgraduate College. Winners received cash prizes and shields. The event was held in collaboration with Mardan Youth, with District Officer Usman also attending.
