The 2024 convocation of Comsats University Islamabad (CUI), Wah Campus, held at Jinnah Convention Center, Islamabad, saw the conferral of degrees to 925 students across various disciplines including Management Sciences, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, and Mathematics. The event celebrated academic excellence and the successful completion of studies at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
Among the graduates, 33 students were honored with gold, silver, and bronze medals for their exceptional academic achievements, while 13 were awarded PhD degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, and Management Sciences. The Chief Guest for the occasion, Prof. Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad, Chairman of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan, congratulated the students and emphasized the importance of contributing to the nation’s progress.
In his address, the Director of Comsats University Islamabad (CUI), Wah Campus, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abid, TI, presented a detailed report highlighting significant developments at the campus. He shared the successful establishment of the Department of Humanities, the launch of new master’s programs, and outlined ongoing infrastructure projects such as the solar energy system installation and the completion of Academic Block-I, set to open in Spring 2025. Dr. Abid also praised the campus’s exceptional faculty, cutting-edge laboratories, and scholarship opportunities available to students.
Dr. Mukhtar, in his speech, congratulated the graduates and urged them to use their education and skills to address the challenges facing the country. He emphasized the need for hard work, resilience, and a focus on contributing to national development.
The convocation marked an important milestone for the university and its graduates, as they prepare to step into the next phase of their careers and contribute to the advancement of knowledge and society.
