Empowering Pakistan’s Youth through Skill-Based Education

In a recent address, Minister for Federal Education Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui stressed the importance of skill-based education in addressing Pakistan’s ongoing crises. Calling for united efforts from political parties, he highlighted how the country’s youth can be empowered with the right education and skills to boost employment and economic growth.

At an event showcasing innovative student projects, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui praised the creativity displayed in fields such as beautician training, tourism, IT, fashion design, and digital media production. He emphasized that the Education Endowment Fund is offering scholarships for skill-based programs on a “need-cum-talent” basis, ensuring that young people can access education that aligns with market needs.

Additionally, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui announced the introduction of Middle and Matric Tech programs in schools, offering more pathways for skill development. With Pakistan’s youth population exceeding 180 million, the minister called for urgent policies that blend modern skills with formal education to maximize employment opportunities.
