FGCTA leaders take oath in Islamabad, Minister vows full support to teachers

In a significant development for federal educators, the (Federal Government College Teachers Association)  FGCTA oath-taking ceremony was held at Islamabad Model College for Girls (Postgraduate), G-10/4. The event, highlighting teacher leadership and unity, was graced by Wajiha Qamar, Minister of State at the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, as chief guest.

The (Federal Government College Teachers Association) FGCTA  oath-taking ceremony brought together principals and staff from several colleges, creating a platform for unity and advocacy. College Principal Sadia Ibrar warmly welcomed the Minister, alongside the FGCTA central body, with a bouquet presentation. In her remarks, Wajiha Qamar pledged full support to the educators, stating she is just a call or message away to resolve teachers’ issues.

The Minister administered the official oath to the newly elected FGCTA body, including Muhammad Akram Khan Khosa (President), Ayesha Kiran (Senior Vice President), Bushra Kauser (Vice President), Tahir Bhatti (General Secretary), Danish Yaseen (Joint Secretary), Zubairuddin (Finance Secretary), and Sobia Masood (Press Secretary).

President Akram Khan Khosa, in his address, presented several key demands on behalf of the teaching community. He called for the restoration of FG colleges’ nomenclature, the appointment of a separate director for FG colleges, and the revision of the four-tier service structure to enable quicker teacher promotions. He also stressed the growing need for new FG colleges in areas like Tarnol, Nilore, and Bhara Kahu due to population growth.

Responding positively, the Minister emphasized that teachers hold a respectable status and must be supported collectively. She reaffirmed her commitment to address every concern raised at the  (Federal Government College Teachers Association) FGCTA  oath-taking ceremony,  assuring that her Ministry is ready to act in partnership with educators.
