Khyber Medical University (KMU), Institute of Pathology and Diagnostic Medicine (IPDM), recently held a free dental awareness camp to promote oral hygiene and offer complimentary dental checkups for students, faculty, and staff. The initiative, aimed at raising awareness about dental care and prevention, served over 600 participants and highlighted the significance of regular oral health screenings.
Led by Dr Beenish Aleem, Head of the Oral Pathology Department, the free dental awareness camp welcomed students, teachers, and community members to benefit from on-site examinations and hygiene education. Dental professionals and student volunteers performed free consultations under expert supervision, focusing on oral disease prevention and early diagnosis.
Speakers from Colgate and ClearPath Orthodontics Pakistan provided insightful sessions on dental care practices, modern orthodontic treatments, and the importance of oral hygiene. The mobile dental unit provided by ClearPath ensured that participants received quality care with convenience. Faculty leaders including Prof Dr Rubina Nazli, Prof Dr Inayat Shah, Prof Dr Yasir Yousafzai, and Dr Ehsan Ullah praised the efforts and stressed the critical role such initiatives play in preventive healthcare.
By facilitating this free dental awareness camp, KMU not only extended healthcare services to its community but also instilled a deeper understanding of oral health and hygiene practices, aligning with its public health vision.
