NUTECH Leadership Engages with FPCCI to Strengthen Academia-Industry Synergy

A high-level delegation from the National University of Technology (NUTECH), led by Registrar Brigadier Adnan Qasim, along with Director Industrial Collaboration Brigadier Salman Zafar and Director Research Brigadier Syed Atif Ali, visited the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) to explore avenues for enhanced collaboration between academia and the private sector.

During discussions, Senior Vice President of FPCCI, Mr. Saquib Fayyaz Magoon, praised National University of Technology  (NUTECH) for its innovative research and industrial contributions. He emphasized the need to amplify awareness of these achievements across Pakistan’s industrial landscape.

Brigadier Adnan Qasim reiterated NUTECH’s mission of serving the industrial sector through cutting-edge research and skill development, emphasizing the university’s motto, “University for Industry.” He highlighted the institution’s unique focus on dual-technology projects, benefiting both defense and civilian sectors, and its dedicated department for skill development.

Mr. Magoon proposed forming an Economic Policy Committee to drive strategic initiatives. Brigadier Qasim supported the idea and suggested a broader Techno Policy Committee for addressing technology-driven solutions in industrial policy. In a move to strengthen ties, Mr. Magoon invited NUTECH representatives to join the FPCCI advisory board, with Brigadier Qasim proposing their inclusion as non-voting members in FPCCI’s international business forums—a suggestion warmly received by FPCCI leadership.

This partnership signifies a critical step towards aligning academic research with industry needs, fostering innovation, and driving Pakistan’s economic development.
