PMYP Focal Person Visits RMU, Highlights Youth Empowerment Programs

Fahad Shahbaz, the Focal Person for the Prime Minister’s Youth Program (PMYP) in Punjab, made a special visit to Rawalpindi Medical University (RMU) on Thursday to engage with students and highlight the government’s latest initiatives under the Youth Digital Empowerment Drive, aligned with the vision of Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif.

The visit emphasized the government’s unwavering commitment to equipping Pakistan’s youth with the tools to thrive in a modern, digital world through strategic initiatives, including digital innovation, career development programs, and inclusive education policies. Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Muhammad Umar, senior faculty, and a large number of enthusiastic students warmly welcomed the guest, creating an atmosphere of hope and progress.

In his address, Dr. Umar praised the government’s youth-focused vision and reaffirmed RMU’s alignment with national development goals. He applauded the Youth Digital Empowerment Drive for providing students with platforms to expand their skills, especially in areas of sustainability, energy conservation, and environmental awareness. These efforts, he emphasized, are molding youth into change-makers for national and global challenges.

Taking the stage, Fahad Shahbaz passionately conveyed the Prime Minister’s belief in the youth as drivers of present-day progress. He highlighted the PM Laptop Scheme and officially introduced the Youth Digital Empowerment Drive through the launch of the Youth’s Digital Hub — a centralized online platform offering resources such as scholarship updates, job listings, and learning tools. Accessible even on mobile devices, the platform aims to bridge urban-rural gaps in opportunity and learning.

Fahad encouraged RMU students to register on the portal and explore all available resources. He concluded by stating that digital inclusion, self-directed learning, and strategic planning are the essential building blocks of a successful youth-led future for Pakistan.
