The Punjab government has officially announced the summer break 2025 schedule for all public and private schools and colleges. As per Punjab Secretary Schools Education, Khalid Nazir Wattoo, the holidays will begin on June 1 and last until August 9, 2025. The summer break 2025 schedule aims to safeguard students and staff from extreme heat.
Wattoo emphasized that the schedule is subject to change based on future weather conditions. “If heat levels become unusually high, vacations may begin a week earlier,” he stated, reaffirming the government’s commitment to the health and safety of children and educators.
To ensure a smooth transition into the summer break 2025 schedule, the Schools Education Department has completed all necessary planning. This decision comes amid increasing concern from climate experts over the impact of rising temperatures on students’ health, academic continuity, and overall productivity.
In line with the schedule, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has released precautionary guidelines for schools. These include enhancing classroom ventilation, ensuring all cooling equipment is functional, and establishing heat emergency response setups like first-aid counters with trained personnel.
