The signing ceremony of the memorandum of understanding between the University of Karachi and the two Italian universities was held on Tuesday at the LEJ University of Karachi. The memorandum of understanding was signed by the vice chancellor of the University of Karachi Prof. Dr. Khalid Mahmood al-Iraqi and the Italian Consul General in Karachi, Daniel Giordani. Spokesperson of the Sindh government and advisor to the Chief Minister of Sindh, Barrister Murtaza Wahab, Governors of Colleges, Heads of Departments and teachers were also present.
Italian Consul General Danilo Giordani said that University of Karachi is interested in educational cooperation, Pakistani students are going to Italy for higher education in large numbers, only in Karachi Consulate this year 1000 students have submitted applications for educational visa.
90% of universities in Italy are public, due to which fees are very low. University of Karachi wants to do joint degree programs and research work, including researcher exchange programs.
Barrister Murtaza Wahab said that we need to promote positive things instead of promoting the negative things of the society. The Consul General of Italy is also a PhD student in the International Relations Department of the University of Karachi. The University of Karachi is a great educational institution. A large number of foreign students are studying , our youth need skills and Italy should provide opportunities to our youth so that they can improve their skills, this will also improve the relations between the two countries and Pakistan will also get foreign exchange.
University of Karachi Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Khalid Mahmood-Iraqi said that after the establishment of the Turkish Language Center in University of Karachi, they are now collaborating with various international universities with the aim of promoting Pakistani culture and research through all these activities along with education. is also. Dr. Khalid Iraqi added that learning international languages is an important need of the hour which we are ignoring. Language centers for various international languages will be opened in the University of Karachi. Striving for the promotion of higher education, I am also grateful to the Chief Minister of Sindh who has increased the grant of University of Karachi.
