The SSUET ACTIVE Project was in the spotlight during a special session held at Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology (SSUET) to assess its impact on youth empowerment and environmental sustainability. The SSUET ACTIVE Project is a flagship capacity-building initiative aimed at preparing youth to face modern sustainability challenges. Dr Enrique Nava, Vice Chancellor of Mobility and International Affairs at the University of Malaga, Spain, lauded the SSUET ACTIVE Project for successfully achieving key milestones in environmental and technical skill development.
In his remarks, Dr Nava praised the dedication shown by SSUET in implementing the SSUET ACTIVE Project, highlighting its importance in strengthening academic partnerships and international cooperation. He underscored how the SSUET ACTIVE Project is promoting global best practices in sustainability through innovation and community engagement. He also announced that remaining resources will soon be transferred to SSUET to carry the SSUET ACTIVE Project into its next development phase.
SSUET Chancellor Muhammad Akbar Ali Khan reaffirmed the university’s commitment to the SSUET ACTIVE Project, stressing its potential in training future engineers to lead Pakistan toward environmental resilience. He reiterated that the SSUET ACTIVE Project not only focuses on technology but also aligns with national priorities for climate action. Chancellor Akbar further praised the SSUET ACTIVE Project as a model for merging academic excellence with practical social responsibility.
Vice Chancellor Dr Syed Jafar Nazir Usmani and Registrar Commodore (retd) Syed Sarfraz Ali echoed similar sentiments, highlighting the SSUET ACTIVE Project as a beacon for youth-led change. They stated that the SSUET ACTIVE Project provides a much-needed platform for hands-on learning, innovation, and cross-cultural collaboration. By anchoring technical education within sustainability goals, the SSUET ACTIVE Project reinforces SSUET’s mission to build a stronger, greener Pakistan.
