The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has approved the inclusion of four-option multiple-choice questions (MCQs) for the upcoming Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) conducted by IBA Sukkur.
In a formal response, the PMDC registrar confirmed agreement on a uniform test paper format across the province. To ensure standardization, the council has recommended preparing the test paper with multiple codes, a practice already adopted in other regions of the country.
The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) also clarified that it has no objection to MCQs with four answer choices, provided they align with the Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) sheets. This approach, commonly used in other provinces, aims to enhance fairness and accuracy in the evaluation process.
For further clarity on related matters, the council advised IBA Sukkur to adhere to the MDCAT curriculum and the PMDC notification issued on August 4, 2024.
This decision marks a step forward in streamlining the MDCAT process and ensuring consistency in medical and dental college admissions across Pakistan.
