The Higher Education Department (HED) Punjab has announced the appointment of Vice Chancellors (VCs) for six public sector universities.
Prof. Dr. Sajjad Mubin has been named VC of the University of Okara, Prof. Dr. Saeed Ahmad for Thal University, Bhakkar, and Prof. Dr. Ashfaq Ahmad for Ghazi University, Dera Ghazi Khan. Additionally, Prof. Dr. Yasir Nawab has been appointed VC of the University of Kamalia, Prof. Dr. M. Zubair Abu Bakar for the University of Layyah, and Prof. Dr. Faheem Aftab for the University of Jhang.
This latest announcement follows earlier notifications, with the department naming VCs for six universities on October 29 and seven universities on September 23.
In another update, the HED Punjab has extended Prof. Dr. Syeda Faleeha Zahra Kazmi’s additional charge as VC of the University of Home Economics. Prof. Kazmi, who has held this interim position since August 2023, will continue her role for up to six more months, starting November 4, 2024, or until a permanent VC is appointed.
These appointment of Vice Chancellors (VCs) reflect the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen leadership in higher education institutions across Punjab.
