Vice Chancellor inspires students at AIOU orientation

Prof. Dr. Nasir Mahmood, Vice Chancellor of Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU), stated that students who aspire to stand out in their academic journey are most likely to attain success in professional life. Emphasising AIOU academic excellence, he urged students to aim for the top five positions, develop a clear vision, and maintain high GPAs. He reiterated that AIOU academic excellence stems from goal-setting, understanding the system, and consistent effort, while encouraging the students to be part of the best-performing group to uphold AIOU academic excellence in every aspect of learning.

The orientation session for BS (Science) students admitted for Spring 2025 under face-to-face mode was conducted by the Directorate of Student Advisory and Counselling Services. The event focused on introducing students to the academic structure and available resources, forming the foundation of AIOU academic excellence. Speakers highlighted that confidence in university systems and facilities contributes to AIOU academic excellence, and motivated students to make the most of the support structure to reinforce AIOU academic excellence in their educational paths.

Dean Faculty of Sciences, Prof. Dr. Sher Muhammad, addressed the students on modern scientific research trends, stressing AIOU academic excellence through practical knowledge. He underlined the use of advanced labs and tools that enhance learning outcomes and contribute to AIOU academic excellence in scientific disciplines. The session encouraged active student participation and guided them to align personal growth with the university’s vision of AIOU academic excellence.

Syed Ghulam Kazim Ali, Director of Student Advisory, elaborated on co-curricular support, advisory services, and student clubs, stating that AIOU academic excellence is not confined to academics alone. Through mentorship and events, students are nurtured for leadership and teamwork which are pillars of AIOU academic excellence. He further encouraged students to engage in all offerings that nurture confidence and creativity, both of which feed into AIOU academic excellence.

The event was also addressed by Director General Regional Services Dr. Malik Tauqeer Ahmad Khan, Director Admissions Syed Zia-ul-Hussain Naqvi, Controller of Exams Mian Riaz Hussain, Director ICT Arshad Manzoor, Treasurer Riaz Hussain, and Registrar Raja Umar Younis. They each stressed AIOU academic excellence as the core of institutional values. Raja Umar Younis stated that every admission is a new beginning of responsibility, and urged students to contribute to AIOU academic excellence through discipline and drive. Collectively, the officials reaffirmed their commitment to sustain AIOU academic excellence across all levels of learning.
