The much-awaited Young Leaders Conference (YLC) 2024 kicked off on December 18 with the transformative theme, “Ikhtiyar Khud Pe” (Control Yourself), designed to inspire and guide young individuals toward leadership, responsibility, and societal impact.
The event opened with powerful sessions led by Kamran Z. Rizvi and Fatema Kausar Ali from the School of Leadership, who encouraged participants to embark on a journey of self-discovery, leadership development, and collective action.
The opening ceremony began with the national anthem and a thought-provoking impact video. A unique activity, “Mark Your Roots,” celebrated diversity and inclusion as participants marked their hometowns on a map, showcasing the rich cultural tapestry of Pakistan.
The morning featured a presentation by Zoha Manzar, Assistant Manager Corporate Communication at EBM, showcasing their longstanding partnership with YLC. The video, “What’s in EBM’s Ikhtiyar,” highlighted EBM’s initiatives aimed at inspiring young people to embrace leadership and contribute to positive societal transformation.
Another standout session was the highly interactive “MenTea with Mentors”, where participants connected with industry professionals to gain insights, seek guidance, and establish valuable relationships.
The energy soared during “The Team Showdown”, an engaging team-building activity led by Waqar Ali, where participants collaborated to create team names, slogans, symbols, and rituals, fostering camaraderie and teamwork.
An inspiring keynote address by Zaamran Baloch, the Young Leaders Conference (YLC) 2024 Champ, centered on the theme “My Circle of Influence.” He urged participants to take responsibility for their actions, lead by example, and uphold ethical values.
Fatema Kausar Ali followed with the reflective activity “Wheels of Life,” encouraging participants to evaluate various aspects of their lives, identify areas needing balance, and recognize that change is always within their grasp.
The day concluded with an impactful session by Kamran Z. Rizvi, “Ikhtiyar Starts with I”, emphasizing the significance of personal integrity and values in leadership. He inspired participants to harness their potential for freedom with discipline and to take charge of their futures while positively influencing others.
